Friendly Explorer Terms

These terms explain the free North Wales Finder visitor account and its points, badges and saved-plan features.

Who may create an account

You must be aged 18 or over. An adult may use an account to plan family days, but children must not create or manage accounts. Keep access to your email account secure because sign-in links are sent there.

Points and badges

Explorer points, levels and badges are free engagement features. They have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred and are not a payment, discount or financial product. We may correct points awarded in error, act against abuse, and change or retire a reward rule with reasonable notice where practical.

At launch, verifying an account earns 25 points, saving a first day plan earns 20 points, and recording the first genuinely completed day earns 30 points. Each of these point awards is available once per account. The first genuine passport visit recorded in each of the six North Wales areas earns 10 points, and collecting all six area stamps earns one 25-point completion bonus. Repeat visits remain in the private journey but do not earn repeat area points. Planning and experience badges may also reflect saved plans, completed days and passport stamps. We do not award points in return for positive reviews, misleading social posts or raw share clicks.

Saved plans and completed days

A saved plan is a convenient record of your choices, not a booking, safety assessment or guaranteed itinerary. Check opening times, prices, weather, accessibility, dog restrictions, travel and availability directly before setting off. Only mark a day as experienced after completing it. Completed-day records are self-reported unless the page clearly labels a future check-in as verified.

Fair use

Do not create duplicate accounts to collect rewards, automate activity, impersonate another person, submit false check-ins or interfere with the service. We may suspend an account or reverse affected points where reasonably necessary to protect users or the platform.

Privacy and location

Explorer accounts are private by default. Passport check-ins are voluntary and self-reported: you choose an area, visit date and optional place name. The service does not request precise GPS coordinates or use background location tracking. See the Privacy Notice and Cookie Notice.

Availability and changes

This is a developing free service. We may add, change, pause or withdraw features, but nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded. Contact hello@northwalesfinder.co.uk for account help or a deletion request.
